Freedom of expression and information will always be one of the world’s most important values. If creators were not free to report the facts, denounce abuses and alert the public, how would we resist the problem of children-soldiers, defend women’s rights or preserve our environment?

WHAT DO WE DO

Freedom of information is fundamental in any democracy, but nearly half of the world’s population has no access to freely reported news and information.

International NGO

Creators Without Borders (CWB) is an independent NGO. Its network consists of photo-/videographers, film makers in 130 countries.

We Put Pressure On

We will put pressure on governments and organizations. We help countries that want to draft legislation that respects basic freedom.

We Mobilize

We will mobilize public and government support by means of eye-catching protests and awareness campaigns which can be shocking at times.

LEGAL SUPPORT

CWB will registers as an interested civil party in judicial cases in order to support journalists in trouble. In addition, CWB provides legal assistance to journalists seeking asylum. It also provides hundreds of support grants to endangered independent media every year.

We protect

We will provide protection for journalists, freelancers and stringers, especially those who travel to war zones or dangerous regions. We do this through insurances, training sessions in physical and digital security, an emergency hotline and information manuals.

In some countries, torturers stop their atrocious deeds as soon as they are mentioned in the media. In others, corrupt politicians abandon their illegal habits when investigative creators publish compromising details about their activities.
